You will have noticed that several places in the town centre are decorated in the style of Mondrian – the clock tower, the fountain and above the shops. Also Stevenage Indoor Market logo was previously designed in the style of Mondrian sign. Each class from Woolenwick School explored the works of abstract artist Piet Mondrian (1872-1944.) and each class has interpreted Mondrian in different ways and the Indoor Market team and traders have been very impressed with children’s ideas. Therefore it has been decided that the school children’s effort deserves to be displayed in a public area so that everyone will have a chance to admire their creative ideas and find out more about Mondrian.
Wednesday 28th June 0217 at 10am Woolenwick School is doing a grand opening of a Mondrian Stall in the Stevenage Indoor Market. Everyone will be able to see children’s work from Wednesday to Saturday 08:30 – 17:30 free of charge. There will be 180 pupils, their parents and teacher visiting the Stevenage Indoor Market over 3 days (28th June -1st July)!
If you would like to show your support and see Woolenwick pupils amazing art work, simply turn up in aisle no 5 (the Stevenage Indoor Market) on Wednesday 28th June at 10am.
